The needs and motivation of young children involved in sport compared to that of  adults can often be very different.  We have heard of two recent stories of children who have been involved in sport and their best bits were very different to that of the adults involved in their life.

A young boy played in an U10 rugby tournament, did very well, his favourite moment, ‘The Ribena van – that served Ribena all day.’

We also took our youngest to a match in the Nou Camp and she had a training session at the Barcelona academy, her favourite moment of the weekend – ‘Getting Mum into the cold swimming pool at the hotel.’

This short animation from UK coaching acts as a reminder to us as parents as to what motivates children to be active……
