This excellent video from Serena Williams looks at what she expects from her daughter as she grows up and her involvement in sport. Despite her own record as an outstanding sportswoman she stresses to her daughter that it is not about being a champion but about gaining all of the physical and emotional benefits that sport has to offer. If it is good enough for a champion to have this mindset then as parents we should be able to align ourselves with these values.
